Today I want to share a very special drink with you! I have been using Bragg products for awhile now. Bragg is a company with huge integrity, they make wholesome products that are as close to the way nature intended them to be. Two items I use primarily are Bragg Amino Acids and Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar! Recently I started buying a drink at my local health food store made by Bragg- it’s their Concord Grape Apple Cider Vinegar Drink. My health food store was pricing this drink for more than $2.99 a bottle. The frugal chick in me checked out the ingredients and realized I could make this stuff at home, so that’s exactly what I have done!
Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar Drink
Makes 1 16 oz serving
- 1 tbsp Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
- 2 tbsp not from concentrate juice of choice, preferably grape
- 5 drops of liquid stevia
- about 14-15 oz filtered water
In a shaker cup or a glass bottle (make sure the bottle has a lid) add all the ingredients, shake and chill if desired.
*This will be a little tart, but I prefer mine this way. If you’d rather have it on the sweeter side, add more juice/stevia. If you’re looking for a bit more kick, increase the Bragg ACV to 2 tbsp.
Why drink apple cider vinegar (ACV)? Well let me first say, not all apple cider vinegars are created equal. Most the ACVs you will find in the store are processed, pasteurized and have had all the goodness or what Bragg’s likes to call “the Mother” removed from it. The Mother contains all the nutrients and healing properties. So when shopping for ACV look for Bragg brand or any kind that is raw and looks “murky”.
ACV has a slew of health benefits, most of which I didn’t believe until I actually started using it on a regular basis. I used to get HORRIBLE pains in my gut, that made me feel like I was being continually stabbed in the stomach. It was a horrible pressure that i could barely help to get rid of. The only thing that helped to relieve the pain was if I had tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted with some water. Fortunately I no longer get those pains in my stomach anymore since doing the Beachbody Ultimate Reset, but that’s a story for another day! Now though I drink my Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar drink as a preventative measure to make sure the stabbing pains don’t come back and to help benefit me in other ways.
I turned a naysayer into a believer as well! One day my boyfriend was at work. He called me saying he was experiencing horrible stomach pains as so bad that if I didn’t bring him my ACV drink he was going to have to leave work early, he felt that bad- which says something because he is ride or die about everything he does. I brought him in the drink, he downed it and he said almost instantaneously it relieved the pain in his belly! He had completely rejected my claims about how beneficial it was until he was in dire need for something to fix him. Now anytime he has any sign of stomach issue, he drinks ACV and is better right away.
Have you ever made any apple cider vinegar drinks? Do you use ACV for anything in particular? I would LOVE to know!
